I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Photoshop...I have designed this cutie pa-tootie Tom Turkey Hershey bar wrapper using that wonderful software...It took me an entire day to do it !!! Figuring out how to do the Turkey's tail was a killer... lol!

I had taken a basic class at the local college last year and that got me over my photoshop fear. I know that I am just touching the surface of what this awesome program can do...but so far so good....I have designed some other cute candy bar wrappers for DoodleBee Art Studio too! To make it fair, I created a Digital Art Collection for all the cat fanciers out there! I do love cats! We have two...The old man Spot, a long haired black cat with one white spot on his chest, he's about 16 years old and very layed back. Then there's Jinxy...a petite gray and white short hair, that's rather fussy and demanding, but she can be very sweet if she want to be.

Cat are a lot like people, each with their own unique purrrr-sonalities...lol (sorry, I couldn't resist) Hope you enjoy checking out...

I Heart My Dog!

F.Y.I...Here are some cute doggies that need a home! My newest art collection "LOVE MY DOG" at Aimee Ashers is dedicated to our lil' Miniature Schnauzer, Pepper Ann. She had not been feeling well, so we took her to the Vet to check it out. After several tests and $800 we were told that she has cancer. There is not much we can do for her, but give her pain meds to make her more comfortable and spoil her rotten until her time comes... She is the sweetest lil' pup, and a bit of a misfit as far as Schnauzers go...she has the biggest ears, that stick straight up, Sooo cute! She has been a beloved member of our family for eight years. It will be a very sad day in the Furnell house when she no longer greets us at the door with her happy squeals, a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek. She will be missed... Warm Hugs, Laurie

Newest Members of our Family...Baby Chicks!

Aren't they the cutiest! Six lil' chickies have come to live with us. Our goal is to have fresh home grown eggs every day or so in about 5 months, but we shall see about that. I have fond memories of collecting eggs at my Grandma's ranch when I was small and wanted to make some fun memories for my grandkids too! Plus, we get the added bonus of something good to eat...the eggs, not the chickens themselves...ewwwww...I don't think I could do that, especially after we name them, lol!
They will be ready for the backyard chicken coop in a month or so. Hope the neighbors don't mind.

Hi all... I have some wonderful news! For those of you who like my artwork and bought my creatables at PcCrafter.com...I am now selling NEW art at Aimeeasher.com It has been a bit of a struggle, but I finally worked out a few contract issues with Provo Craft and I am now free to sell new art once again!!!

I didn't realize how much I missed creating and painting... It had been a while since I sat down and painted new art and I'm happy to report that I've got my groove back...My first set is a fun Spring/Easter art collection "Springville Express" . I can't wait to start on my next set. I want to thank all my loyal followers for sticking with me the last few months. I welcome ideas for new art and look forward to the adventures that await! Wow! The sun is shining and it's going to be almost 70 degrees today...It is hard for me to work in my studio with the glorious sun begging me to come outside to play.

My art studio is in our basement with no windows...uhg! I do have so much artwork to do...But I do need a few groceries and I need to get a birthday gift for our grandson...

...maybe a short trip out won't hurt! LOL! I think that spring fever's got the best of me.

Something to help brighten your day...

Are you all as tired of winter as I am? I think I'm going stir CrAzY!!! We were some of the fortunate ones that got 20+ inches of snow last week...We finally dug ourselves out of that and now the temps are below zero...Brrrrrrr...and it snowed again! I would do almost anything to be on a warm sunny beach in some far away exotic land right now... Only in my dreams I guess...LOL! But it's nice to dream!

One thing that brightens my snow covered freezing day is getting a card in the mail...I tells me that I'm not alone in this great big world and that someone cares about little ol' me...and it make me smile. My sister made up the cutest Bumblebee card ( I'm a sucker for Bumblebees) I think I will make some today and send them to some of the people in my life that I think could use a smile too...Try to stay warm! Happy New Year Everyone!...I always like the start of a new year. It's a time for new beginnings, a time to change bad habits... ugh... ( I threw out all the left over holiday goodies!) I promise I will eat healthier, exercise more, etc. etc, etc....We will see how long it lasts...LOL!

Well, Thanksgiving is almost here, the year has just flown by...
it's been a busy and fun time for me!

I have made new and wonderful friends. I have started new adventures in rubber stamps, machine embroidery and the world of licensing. I've been blessed to continue to do my monthly creatables at PcCrafter and design for Cottage Cutz...Our son married a wonderful young woman and we are all healthy and happy!

I have soooooo much to be thankful for!

It requires a deft hand with some sharp pointy scissors, but I think the finished product is worth the effort! I think it would be even better it you add some sparklies and pretty do-dads to make it even fancier! It can be used in many different ways...of coarse, as a Christmas ornament, but also decorations on cards or tags on your Christmas gifts...I'm sure that all you creative folks can come up with other uses too...If you do, let me know, I love hearing from you!

Halloween Freebie!

Hi all...Autumn is my favorite time of the year. I love the fall colors and cooler weather, it brings back fond memories of my childhood. I loved raking the fallen leaves into great piles and then running and jumping in them, laughing with delight. Trick or treating with my friends was another one, and coming home with a huge sack of candy that lasted until Christmas. Our family always carved our pumpkins a few days before halloween and set them out on our porch, that erie glow still warms my heart today.
We still love to decorate for fall, now it is for my grandchildren's delight. This Halloween my Grandkiddo's are close by and we will be able to see them all dressed up in their costumes. Oh what fun! Hopefully, this will be a special time of year for them too.

To help celebrate the season, I have created a cute little

Easy Christmas Stocking Pocket!

Here's a fun Christmas project that is easy to make! It will make a wonderful Christmas ornament... just fill it with your favorite treat or gift card...it could make a great gift tag too...Just add your personalization and you are all set! Hmmmmm....I was thinkin'...that this would make a cute Snowman soup kit...just put the cocoa packet in the pocket with the candy cane then punch a hole and tie on a little bag with the mini marshmallows...I'll have to work on that one! Well anyway...Here's the instructions, have fun!

Supplies: Scissors, glue stick, Exacto knife, coordinating scrapbook paper and the stocking graphic (from PcCrafter.com).

1. Open your favorite design software and insert the stocking graphic onto the page. I size the image to about 8 1/2" tall x 5" wide. You will need to do any personalization now. Print out on presentation paper.

2. Cut out the stocking, leaving 1/4" of white around the edge. Then use the Exacto knife to cut on the black line for the opening of the stocking (see example).

3. Apply the glue all around the edge, about 1/2" wide. Make sure that you don't glue the pocket closed. Place the stocking onto the coordinating scrapbook paper and press firmly around the edges to seal. Let dry.

4. Cut out the stocking again, this time leaving just a little of the white showing...now would be the time to jazz it up a bit by adding some sparklies if you want! When it's dry, punch a hole and add a ribbon for hanging...fill with some Christmas goodies...enjoy!!

Wow! Has It Been That Long???????

It has been a long & busy summer and it's about time that I updated my blog.

I have been taking care of my grandchildren during the day...ages 5, 4 & 2...Boy, do they keep me hopping...It has been many years since I played with play dough, sidewalk chalk & bubbles...To say the least, it has been an adventure. One, that makes this Grammy feel very old by the end of the day...I am totally wiped out by the time their Mom comes to pick them up!

I'm sorry to say that I have not had much time to work on any new art for PcCrafter. It's hard to find the time between blowing bubbles and baking cookies...LOL ...The two year old does take nice long naps in the afternoon and the 5 year old started kindergarten last week...I just have to keep the 4 year old busy... If I can't work in a whole creatable, maybe I can do a fun fall freebie for my blog...hmmmm...what a great idea!

My Sister has had some major life changes too and has relocated to the wonderful city of Seattle Washington...She is now settled in and back to creating her fun artwork. It looks like an invasion of snowmen...LOL...This little snowman is another oldie but goodie...I gave the graphic away as a freebie last year and have had several requests for it this year sooooo here he is...
"Snowman Candy Wrapper"

This graphic may be sized to fit almost anything, from rolls of Lifesavers or Rolos to coffee cans and microwave popcorn. It works especially well when wrapped around your favorite size of Hershey bar.

The hats can be made out of felt, fleece, Christmas socks or the cutest thing I've seen is knit gloves...The scarfs can be made from scraps of fabric, felt, fleece or ribbon as well. It's also fun to add buttons, little snowflakes and other doodads to make them really fancy...

Several Hugsisters from the PcCrafter message board were kind enough to send me pictures of their snowman creations and I do appreciate their help...sorry to say that I could'nt use all the pictures but here's a sampling of what you can do with this simple piece of art...

I think these are wrapped around microwave popcorn...

Lifesaver snowmen are the cutest! It looks like she used the finger of some knitted gloves for the hat...and added some tiny snowflakes and yarn for the scarf...cute,cute,cute!

This is your basic Hershey bar with a felt hat...I sold a bunch of snowmen just like this last year at my craft shows...they where my best sellers!

Here's an oldie but goodie...A "Pilgrim Wrapper" that I created last year...I have touched it up a bit, and add some directions for those who are new to paper crafting...It makes a cute and easy lil' Thanksgiving treat for family and friends. Have fun with it!

Monster Cookies...

I made a bunch of these "Monster Cookies" to send to our missionary son and a bake sale our community is having called "Festival of Sharing". I wrapped each giant cookie individually and put this cute sticker on top...I used artwork from my creatable "Autumn Days" and glued it to a punched scalloped circle...Oh, How I love my scalloped circle punch!!! Here's the recipe for you to make them too...they will also make a great treat to give to your lil' Trick or Treaters...Have Fun!

I discovered this neat little treat box...courtesy of a wonderful hugsister on the pccrafter.com message boards. After looking at the tutorial I thought that there must be an easier way than having to do all that measuring an such...so I made a template! Now all you have to do is fill it in with some great Pccrafter artwork, cut it out, fold it up, add some embellishments, and fill it with your favorite goodies...This Thanksgiving box was made using Debbie Mumm's "Spooky Harvest" creatable...It was so easy to do...Hope you'll give it a try!

Hi All.....It's been a while since I posted...Let's just say that it has been a long busy summer and leave it at that....Summer is my least favorite time of year and I am happy to see it go...On the other hand...Autumn is my very favorite season. I love the cooler weather and the crispness in the air...I love all the beautiful colors of fall...oranges, reds, golds and purples! Sooooo.... to help celebrate this glorious season, I'm back with a cute freebie that may help get you all ready for all the fun that Halloween can bring! This bookmark, along with a wonderful romance novel or great mystery would make a super gift for the book loving "Mother" in your life...My Mom passed on almost twenty years ago, but there is hardly a day that goes by that I don't think of her and the many good times we had together. This is the sort of simple gift that my Mom would have loved!

Lemon Crisps...Yummmmmmm!

Lemon is one of my very favorite flavors...I found this super easy lemon cookie recipe that is a winner...I hope you will give them a try...They are especially good with a little lemon glaze on top! :o)

P.S. Here's an easy recipe for the lemon glaze...

LEMON GLAZE:
3/4 cup confectioner's sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice

Mix together until smooth. Drizzle on top of cooled cookies...Yummmmo!

Here's a cute little Easter basket that I came up with...It's pretty simple to make and doesn't take much time...Perfect for one of those last minute gifts you need in a hurry! The graphics came from my "Easter Angel" creatable...Check out the link if you would like to see more ...

Here's the instuctions for the basket...

Supplies:

Easter Basket Freebie
White card stock
Scissors
Ruler
Stylist or something to score paper
1/8 in. Hole punch
2 Yellow mini brads
Scotch tape
Goodies to fill it with...the best part! :o)
Instructions: Print basket template on white card stock, cut out, score on all black lines. Fold to form basket, folding the corners in towards the bigger egg sides. Secure corners on the inside using Scotch tape. Punch an 1/8 inch hole where indicated on larger eggs...you will be punching through five layers of paper. Cut out basket handle, punch 1/8 inch holes where indicated. Attach handle on the inside with small brads! Fill with Easter grass and your favorite Easter goodies...Enjoy!

...Country Calendars...

Here's a picture of a perpetual magnetic calendar that I made using that creatable...Just print it out onto magnetic sheets, laminate and cut it out...then just use a dry erase marker to write in the dates & daily appointments etc...I sold a bunch of them at my craft shows last fall...They make great useful gifts that can be used over and over...They fit great on your fridge or filing cabinet...Just follow the link if you are interested in purchasing the graphics...Enjoy!
